Started in 2017, the Anesthesia Review Session Conference is an annual meeting aimed at increasing free medical and patient safety education to anesthesia learners to aid in lifelong learning, as well as provide opportunities for junior educators to give didactics on a broader platform. It has been attended by trainees spanning all national regions typically classified by the American Medical Association (“AMA regions”) and consumed thereafter by learners globally. By October 2025, the videos have had 273,000 impressions on Vimeo and have been watched for over 5,300 hours of viewing time.

In 2022, an original research article was published in a high-impact journal (Journal of Clinical Anesthesia) on the value of an anesthesia review session consistent with the goals of the conference (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34923227/). It found that the review session was associated with improved trainee confidence, sense of study organization, willingness to educate colleagues, and reduced stress levels. It was also associated with a positive change in trend in trainee examination percentiles over time.

The Anesthesia Review Session Conference is brought to you by the Data Driven Didactics Collaborative, which is comprised of a group of anesthesia educators dedicated to the goals of the conference. It is neither organized nor sponsored by the institutions for which the speakers affiliate (sessions represent presenters’ views and not their affiliated entities [views their own]). It is also not a professional society nor a lay organization. It does not have a society membership base nor mechanism. We hope you enjoy the content!
You are welcome to contact us with any feedback (see conference materials for contact information). Otherwise, you can also say thanks by watching the videos and telling your colleagues. Happy learning.
